Hawke had been watching the city for quite some time. In fact, judging from the wine bottles collected at his feet and the light rise and fall of his chest, it had probably been such a time that he'd outright fallen asleep. He didn't even stir at the sound of somebody approaching, presumably assuming (hopefully rightfully) that nobody in his home would attack him. Curled in the windowsill and pressed against the metal that was keeping him inside instead of a Hawke pancake, he looked... restful.
The neighbors were screaming good-naturedly at each other as the sun set over the swathe of city visible from the window. That didn't wake Hawke- indeed, didn't even make him twitch. A light breeze swept into the room, ruffling the pages of a few books he had open on his desk. Goosebumps rose on his arms, then fell again. That was what woke him.
"... Wha...?" He muzzily leaned away from the window grate, scruffing at his hair and face. "Maker's breath, I feel like I've been asleep <i>forever.</i>"

Date: 2012-10-23 05:28 am (UTC)He'd come in about an hour ago himself, having finished up early at the clinic for a change and decided to see Garrett. But on finding the other man asleep, Anders had instead settled himself at the desk, taking up a little space to work on the latest draft of his manifesto. Right now he was caught up in trying to figure out a particular phrase, so his reception was perhaps not quite as friendly as it would have been otherwise.
"...what's the difference between impugn and oppugn? Do you know?"

He'd be ashamed to admit it to his face, but he did feel a vague tickle of dismay at the sight of the manifesto. He hid his dismay by leaning down, putting his mouth dangerously close to Ander's ear. "I should suppose that one is...." A hand crept down to slip under Ander's coat, petting at the warmth of his ribs, "perhaps a bit more forceful."

"All right, all right," he said, turning his head to rub his cheek against Garrett's scratchier one. "You've made you point. I'll put the cause of mages aside for the night, shall I?"

Other than that it's been at least more than fifteen minutes. Still a wide range to work in, between a quarter of an hour and forever, I think."
The bottles set up, Alec turned his full attention back to Hawke. "Having any good dreams?"
